NEWMAN! NEW-
I have all of the Ryan Newman gear. When i was in Daytona a few years ago when JR won the race i bought a shit load of his stuff (beacuse it was black) and Kane's (because i was drinking alot).
Newman being a truely "smart" drive i was kind of drawn to him. (and the fact he had no neck.) That's the year they nick named him "rocketman". The thing about Newman was you could not understand him because he was smarter than you. Redneck drivers would also say they did not understand Newman. Not becuse the could not understand what he was saying, but they could not understand the words coming out of his mouth because of his engineering back ground.
(I just realized me spell check does not work on my computor. Bear with me. I am trying to correct as much as i can when i catch it.)

Eating Crow
No one thought Eli could do it. None of the sports writters i read over the past few weeks. New York had him all but calling in the game.
Eli was standing for most of the game. Tom Brady on the other had was just about on his ass the entire game. What a defence, what a game, what an ending.
As i was watching the first three quarters i was thinking to myself that the way the giants are moving the football if it is close in the 4th quarter the Pats might be in trouble. I did not want ot be right, but i was.
I took the over on a bet, bad move. I had figured the first quarter and a half would be a little slow, but had no idea it would carry over for 45 minutes.
4th quarter.............
WOW, I am so glad i did not fall asleep and miss the 4th. I love listening to Aikman but i have never liked Joe Buck. That was the only downer to the game.
Everyone is talking about "the catch". Eli and David will now go down in Giants folklore for the rest of there days. Even if Eli sucks next year they will (or at least should) cut him some slack. But hey, This is New York Baby. Unless your name is Jeter you'll always be under the gun with the fans.
Good thing i am a Seahawks fan...
With the Seahawks we really kinda know what to expect just about every year now a days. We good, not great. If we make it to the playoffs we had a banner year, but no one (especially the fans) expect us to go all the way. It's just not happening again. With Matt winding down, alexander on his last leg and the offensive line starting to dwindle it looks like 4-5 more years before we make it deep into the playoffs again.
Hopefully i will have the Nascar preview done on monday.

I should be at the gym
It's a long story so i decided to vent. I remember a little of what it is like to be single. Everyone and a while i miss it. Like right now. Gonna get a few things off my mind while there still fresh.
The story lines for the next two weeks.
Tom Brady Rules.....
Well, until someone dethrones the king, he's pretty much it. What other QB would you want running your team?
Payton? Please.......
Drew Breeze? Give him a little more time..
Philip Rivers? Talks way too much. Besides i have a big problem with him. (read previous entry's)
David Gerrard? Snappy dresser, but not even at midfield yet.
Jeff Garcia? Proven winner. Dog lover, married to a playboy bunny (I still think he's gay. T.O was right.)
See, Right now, at this very moment in time there is no other QB you want at the helm. Unless Bradshaw, Farve, or Aikman travel in time and come back at there prime no one is even close.
Payton was close for a while and got a ring last year but all the start fell into place at the right time and it was hour to be on the podium.
Billy B is a genius........
Well DUH??????????
4 Superbowl's in 7 years. What the F do you think he is? How many stars did he let go and replace with a rookie or someone he picked off waives? (surprised he did not p/u Ryan Grant when he had the chance). Yes he's a genius. Get use to it.
Pat's defence is getting old.
O.k. maybe if they were playing the game today this would be a factor. But your giving the (possibly) greatest team you have even witnessed two (TWO!) weeks to prepare for a sub par Giants team with a solid defence and a "streaky" QB with a banged up front line. The Giants corner are in deep, DEEP, sh^t tin two weeks if they think the can cover Moss, Stalworth, Gafney, Welker, and Watson for the whole game. And what if Maroney goes off and goes for 300 yards behind the 2ND best O line of all time. (Hogs are #1 all time, no argument, do not even try.) See, we already got off the fact.
We review the Giants tomorrow.
See ya................

Holy crap! The Giants and Eli Manning (ELI!) beat the Packers. I am still in disbelief this morning. And i watched the whole game. From the Pre game to Joe Bucks opening statement to filling it over to sports center to make sure what i just saw was for real.
Someone pinch me.
Un-Fing-Beleviable. I'm in shock. I am dumbfounded. I feel like an REM song.
This is the reason i love sports, No one, No body, Not a soul on the face of Gods green earth game the Giants a chance, except Terry Bradshaw.
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW...............................
I am dissapointed for Brett Farve, Happy for Eli.
Brett................
I know the reporters needed to do there job but this man just lost one of the bigger games of his life and your already asking him if he is going to retire or weather he will be back next year. You should know he's going to do the same thing he has done for the last few years. He's going to go home, spend some time on his farm, talk with his wife and see how he feels. 18 years in the league and this situation over the last five you would thing you would give the man a little slack. I like, Sorry, Love the way Farve plays. I will miss him when he does decide to hang them up.
Eli...................
Has anyone tested him for performance enhancing drugs? Seriously, this kid is either playing way above his head (probably) or his teammates are finally playing to there potential (possible). Steve Smith, Plexico, and Toomer are a nice tandom of receivers. One rookie (smith) one big play receiver (Plexico) and one cagey Vet (Toomer). Put the ball where it is supposto go and they will make plays for you. Would also like to point out a very good player who is making an impact. Kevin Boss. (Shockey who????).
Good hands, great blocker, and he's like 6ft 4 or something ridiculous like that. Looks like the Giants drafted pretty well over the last few years.
Payton sits at home.
How ironic that Eli told his brother to stay at home because the last two (not just once) Payton showed up at one of his games he stunk up the place. (also the games were at home). The giants are essentially going on the road again. I am wondering if Giants fans are going to stay at home and treat it like an away game? He plays well while he is in hostile territory, Giants fans should let everyone in New England attend the game and have Eli think it is truly another road game?
NOT ANOTHER SCOTT NORWOOD...............
As i was watching Lawrence Tynes miss two (kinda) makable field goals i immediately had flash backs of Scott Norwood. Then at 2:35 of overtime he nails a 47 yard FG to send the G-men to Arizona. THAT might have been the only reason for me to have been rooting for the Giants to win that game. Lawrence is now walking around with the same confidence Vinatieri has been for the last 7 or 8 years. Sure i can make that field goal. In -24 degree weather kicking a rock hard bowling ball 47 yards is a pretty descent accomplishment. Kicking it in overtime with 25% of the American public watching and the game on the line is another thing. I am glad the kid (and he is a rookie) will not have that hanging over his head for the balance of his career.
Brett on the other hand....................
I believe has no choice but to come back next year. He can not have his last pass in the NFL be an interception. He holds the record for most touchdowns and interceptions in a career, but no one wants to see him go out like this. Arron Rogers can wait one more year.
NASCAR.....
I will be doing my first NASCAR review of the season this week. Have it about 1/2 done. I will be looking at all of the contenders and the rookies for the upcoming season. Football is just about over and i am quickly loosing interest in Basketball again. So i will be devoting alot of the next few months to NASCAR.
See ya......................................

Same could be said about Phillip Rivers. What's with the constant taunting of the other teams? I think that is probably a good reason why he got plowed into on the field last week. Remember Ryan Leaf? He could not keep his trap shut and he got run out of the league (because he sucked as well). Good quarterback know when to open there mouth and when to keep it closed. (Manning, Brady, Palmer, just to name a few).
Bolts/Pats should be a fun game. I do hope Rivers plays and plays well, Right up until Teddy and JR kamikaze crunch him in the 3rd quarter. Then let's see him win another game with Billy Volek at the helm. Rivers use to be such a quiet kid. Maybe he thinks he has to do this now because he kinda sucks as a QB. He, a lot like Eli, are too erratic. You never know which one of them will show up at the game. Unlike Brady, Gerard and Manning who are about as consistent as you will find in a QB you know what you are getting week in and week out. I was never a QB but have thrown the ball around a little and you know what. I do not think it is really that hard. But we will leave that statement until i actually get picked as a contestant on Pros's vs, Joe's.
THERE'S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL................
He's my QB, He's my friend. He aint heavy, He's my brother.......................
A performance Worth an Oscar. (Let;s hope Roger Clemens can put on a similar one today at the grand jury). That was beautiful. Just F-ING B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. I watched the video on you-tube about a 100 times. Each time was better than the last. That is about a 6oooo on the comedy scale. Only thing that would have made it funnier is if Barry Bonds was doing the interview and keep yelling at him to shut the F up.
There's not Fing crying in Football unless you break something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can understand T.O defending Romo, especially if he did in fact buy him the tickets. I like Romo and Jessica (But i really wanted to see him hook up with Carie Underwood) but if you are the QB of the Dallas Cowboys you (just like the NY and Boston Media) will be under the constant eye of the media. If you miss the urinal and pee on the floor, we'll know about it. You forget to tip the waitress at breakfast, we know about it. Where ever you go, so does the media. Get use to it.
Look up in the sky..........................
I have been reading some report about Texans seeing ufo's. (Please insert Jessica Simpson /Tony romo joke here.)
Now, Have the Partiots cause that much commotion that other worlds are coming down here and trying to get tickets for the Pats games? Did anyone this that that is why there have been so may sitings? Or have they come back for there commander and chief (Jerry Jones) and there 1st commander (Jason Garrett). Don't they both look like creatures from outer space? Especially Jason. Those bug eye's that he watches the field so closely with. Or those knobby little fingers he keeps writing on the board with. almost like he is texting the commander in chief for some help. You all know Wade is done and will not be back next year. Wanna know why? Look at the last 5 minutes of the game. Where was Jerry Jones? Right next to Wade, that's where. I can just hear him whispering in his ear.
Ya know, I let Parcells go for not winning a playoff game. You loose this one and you can only imagine what i am going to do to you? He's done and Garrett will get the head coaching job. There is not way Jones will let him go anywhere. That would be like the Partiots firing Billy B. for going 9-5 one year. Not Gonna Happen.
Gotta Run.......................................

I looked around and here is what i came up with.
#1 - The Partiots are the 1st team to go 16 and 0 since the 16 game season came about.
#2 - the Celtics are 10.5 games ahead.
#3 - The red soxs are still going to get Santana.
#4 - So far the Bruins are doing o.k.
New England is a great place to live now a days.
Except for today. What a day. I went to the hospital twice (not for me), and i was colder than a witches tit outside all day. (Global warming? -0 with the wind chill? WTF?)
I am getting into MMA and the UFC more and more these days.
Nascar is only about 40 days away from starting back up.
WOW am i f-ing excited.
I have not been posting alike i thought i was going to. My work out schedule has been hell. I hate working out when there is alot of people at the gym. I guess i can not support a gym all by myself so i should not complain. I just wish there was a gym that had individual work out areas for everyone. I got an i-pod which distracts me from looking at people who are looking at me. That's kind of a contradiction isn't it. I hate people who stare at me but yet i look around and try and catch people looking at me?
There is a million mirrors in the gym. If you want to see who is doing what just look in the mirror, right?
Weird.
I'm screwed up it think.
I;m really, really, really tired.
My girlfriends brother had to be taken to the hospital today. Dehydration. There is a long story behind this one but i am not going to air this dirty laundry on the Internet (yet).
Later.

Not sure where today will go
For letting everyone see the Pats go down in history as the 1st 16-0 team.
With only 40% of America getting the NFL network it was a no brainier to let CBS and NBC broadcast the games. I know i would have been pissed if i was not able to watch the game. I had already planned where i was going to watch the game. (I was not about to sit at a bar for 4-5 hours)
I have said this before, but, the NFL in a Billion (Like $1,000,000,000.00 BILLION) dollar a year industry. Why, why, do they feel the need to charge us to watch the games on t.v.? I know how much my cable bill is every month, I know how much football i watch. I just do not see the need for it. Maybe they feel left out watching Boxing, UFC and WWE rake in millions of dollars on pay-per-view events and feel the need to reach deeper into the pockets of the fans? I love football, played it as a kid, played it as a young adult, and when the occasion arises play it as an adult. as the world changes we have to adapt. and the same i suspect it true for football. We have had to adapt to rule changes over the years (some of which i still do not understand). But to puinish the fans of the sport by trying to get and extra buck out of them is assinine. We already pay enough at the game, why should we from our living rooms?
Picks (home teams in CAPS)
NE over G-men
Nothing will stop the 16-0 run. not even if Eli has the game of his life. I look for the Partiots to roll over the Giants in a big way and make a statement headed into the playoffs.
Seattle over ATLANTA
Could be a trap game for the Seahawks. Atlanta has nothing to play for, Seattle does not gain anything buy playing the starters.
CHICAGO over The Saints
It's gonna be cold. Chicago's defence and there running attack should be enough to take care of the Saints.
CLEVELAND over 49ers
Cleveland will win but will not make the playoffs. (To bad.)
GREEN BAY over Detroit.
Farve passes fo 900 yards in the final tune up before the playoffs.
MIAMI (yes, Miami) over the Bengles.
Ocho Cinco plays badly, Carson Palmer sucks even worse. Miami plays o.k. and wins.
Buffalo over PHILADELPHIA
Here it is boys and girls. Donovan McNabb's last home game as an Eagle.
Rest of the picks
TAMPA BAY over Carolina.
Jacksonville over HOUSTON
WASHINGTON over Dallas
Pittsburgh over BALTIMORE
ARIZONA over ST. Louis
J-E-T-S over Kansas City
SAN DIEGO over Oakland
Minnesota over DENVER
Tennessee over INDY
Have a safe and happy new year.
